New Moons are traditionally about initiation, this one carries a little different instruction. Mercury is retrograde in Cancer at 19°56′, within a single degree of the Moon at 20°05′. That 0.2 degree conjunction means this lunation is essentially a New Moon conjunct Mercury retrograde, and Mercury retrograde in Cancer is not a forward-moving energy. It’s introspective, emotional, and interested in what has already happened rather than what comes next. Cancer rules memory, belonging, the past, and the private interior of a life. Mercury moving backward through it asks you to go back into something you thought you’d already processed. This doesn’t mean new beginnings are off the table. It means the new beginning available to you right now has roots in something older. The thing you’re starting, or the intention you’re setting, or the clarity you’re arriving at is not coming from nowhere. It’s coming from a place you’ve been before, seen differently now. The Sun, Moon, and Mercury together in Cancer create a stellium that makes this sky unusually Water-heavy and inward-facing. The emotional register is heightened at this New Moon in a way that isn’t performative. It is too rigid and too structured for its energy, so because of this, we can feel extra moody, insensitive, and can easily lose our patience. There is a coldness that can manifest when the Moon is in Capricorn, so this is something we need to be mindful of. Are we being too harsh with ourselves or others? Are we dismissing how we truly feel because it doesn’t seem practical? Bypassing our deeper, more uncomfortable emotions can happen under a Capricorn Full Moon, so be sure you are giving yourself time to grieve, time to process, and time to release any emotions that want to come up. On the flipside, however, the Capricorn Full Moon can help us lower the drama of it all and see things from a more logical point of view. This can, of course, be very helpful when it comes to finding clarity and seeing things for what they are. Under the Capricorn Full Moon, it is easier for us to step up and take responsibility for our actions and to move toward the outcome we are looking to create. Its energy can give us the stamina and the strength to march forward and to take the emotion out of things. The Capricorn Full Moon Brings Some Tension Under the June Capricorn Full Moon, we also have some tension brewing in our planetary sky. While this can be stressful, having so much tension in our cosmos can actually help to inspire action, allowing us to take a step forward. Something will have to give, and often when that happens, we are pushed out of our comfort zone and into a new vantage point. We may even feel forced into action, but if we trust divine timing, this step may help us to shake free from whatever has been holding us back or keeping us stuck. Mercury, the planet of communication and clarity, is also stationing retrograde just before the Full Moon reaches its peak. This move of Mercury into the underworld can heighten our intuition and strengthen our inner voice. While it is always a good idea to listen to our inner voice, under the Full Moon, we will find ourselves guided even more. We may even find important messages or signs coming up for us in our dreams and automatic writing. We don’t have any big cosmic homework; we don’t have to ponder big life questions; we don’t even have to make a vision board. Instead, we can simply allow ourselves to be in the joy of life. The Sabian Symbol for the Gemini New Moon There is an image associated with each degree of the zodiac, known as the Sabian Symbols. These images were channeled by psychic medium, Elsie Wheeler. For this New Moon, it is interesting to note the Sabian symbol is: “Children skating over a frozen village pond.” This image evokes playfulness and fun and speaks to our ability to find joy even in environments that feel harsh or cold. We don’t always have to wait for life to feel easy before we allow ourselves to enjoy it. How can you make the most of your current situation? How can you find more lightness, more joy, and a greater focus on the blessings already around you? The Gemini New Moon reminds us that life is not only something to be worked through or figured out, but also something to be experienced and enjoyed. Even when challenges are present in the background, there is still space for curiosity, lightness, and play. We can use this New Moon energy to step out of heaviness and into perspective. With a face value of 78 cents, the new stamp can be used to send a letter or postcard within the United States. The USPS stressed the stamp's significance, saying it will allow people to send and receive a message of peace -- something that everyone hopes for.  It was created to coincide with the 2026 Boston World Exposition, an international stamp exhibition. In a statement, the USPS said, "The peace crane has become a universal symbol. You don't need to speak Japanese to fold one. You don't need to share the same religion, nationality or history." The stamp design shows a white crane taking flight against a blue sky, and the statement also stressed, "A flat, ordinary piece of paper becomes something that appears ready to take flight. That is not just origami, it is a metaphor for what human beings can do when we choose creation over destruction, connection over division, and hope over despair." In its announcement, the USPS also explained that the origins of the origami crane as a symbol of peace began with Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who was exposed to the atomic bombing in Hiroshima in 1945 and continued folding cranes until her death at age 12.
