Rising low on the horizon, it will appear bigger, brighter, and more golden than any other Moon this year, casting long, glowing light across autumn fields, landscapes, and evening skies. What Makes the Harvest Moon Special The Harvest Moon is the full Moon closest to the autumnal equinox (September 22 or 23). Unlike other full Moons, it rises about the same time for several nights, providing extended evening light. Monday October 6: Super Full Moon in Aries The Super Full Moon in Aries has some heat around it, and we may feel tensions rising. Eris, the Goddess of Discord and Strife, is highly activated under this Full Moon, encouraging us to break free of our shackles and go for what we want. This Full Moon will be supporting us to take a leap of faith and push past any boundaries or restrictions that have kept us feeling stuck or playing small. If there is something we need to get done, or some extra stamina required to move ahead, this Full Moon will deliver it! With all this fiery and intense energy, we may also be feeling a little more emotionally sensitive than usual. We may find ourselves feeling short-tempered or struggling to control our emotions. Address any anger or irritability that may arise, but try to do so with kindness and compassion. This Full Moon is also connected to the energies of the March Equinox and the start of our astrological year. "Hopis' Ancient Knowledge and Prophecies are warning through many signs, that we have entered a dangerous period in our lives. Mankind must return to Peaceful ways, and halt the Destruction of Mother Earth, or we are going to destroy ourselves. All the Stages of Hopi prophecy have come to pass, except for the last, the purification. The intensity of this purification will depend on how humanity collaborates with Creation. We are entering the last days. The Hopi Spiritual Leaders have spoken their urgent warning and message to the United Nations and around the world, yet there has been no response. This year’s September full Moon is special as it will be covered by Earth’s shadow, creating a striking red Moon, also known as a “Blood Moon.” While much of North America will not be able to witness it, we will still feel its presence bringing destined situations into our lives. ------------------------------------- Summerland Bereavement Notice ------------------------------------- Our friend, the Rev. Lelia Cutler, from the Memorial Spiritualist Church in Norfolk, Virginia, transitioned to spirit on Wednesday, August 20 after a prolonged illness. She was a Spiritualist for more than 60 years. Her gifts included lecturing, teaching, clairvoyant mediumship, and singing. She was the President of the NSAC for 9 years and was a member of the Board of the NSAC for 19 years, including as the position of Treasurer. Lelia was also graded correspondence lessons for the Morris Pratt Institute for many years. Lelia served our church a number of times, offering Spiritual Addresses, mediumship, and workshops. Her big smile and easy-going humor were part of her beautiful nature. She put her full, inspiring self into her teaching and mentoring. She called herself the “Mouth from the South” and had a hearty laugh and beautiful singing voice. She will be missed by many, many people who were touched by her kindness and vast knowledge of Spiritualism and life.
