The September Equinox celebrates the halfway point of our astrological year, and is a time to celebrate all we have achieved. All the seeds we planted under the March Equinox would have started to bloom, bringing us the rewards of our efforts. If we are unhappy with what has been growing in our garden, the September Equinox offers a turning point and reset, helping us to make adjustments, and the Full Moon can amplify this for us. It wants us to recognize that we are getting a do-over, to make new choices, to try again, and to take a new approach, one that is more courageous and perhaps requires a little more confidence. The lingering energies of the Equinox, along with the fiery energies of the Aries Full Moon, offer a rare opportunity for us to level up and embrace a new season of our life story. With a face value of 78 cents, the new stamp can be used to send a letter or postcard within the United States. The USPS stressed the stamp's significance, saying it will allow people to send and receive a message of peace -- something that everyone hopes for. It was created to coincide with the 2026 Boston World Exposition, an international stamp exhibition. In a statement, the USPS said, "The peace crane has become a universal symbol. You don't need to speak Japanese to fold one. You don't need to share the same religion, nationality or history." The stamp design shows a white crane taking flight against a blue sky, and the statement also stressed, "A flat, ordinary piece of paper becomes something that appears ready to take flight. That is not just origami, it is a metaphor for what human beings can do when we choose creation over destruction, connection over division, and hope over despair." In its announcement, the USPS also explained that the origins of the origami crane as a symbol of peace began with Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who was exposed to the atomic bombing in Hiroshima in 1945 and continued folding cranes until her death at age 12. It said the movement to fold paper cranes with wishes for peace has spread around the world. https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20260529/p2a/00m/0in/010000c About Sadako Sasaki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadako_Sasaki# Image credit: https://about.usps.com/newsroom/national-releases/2026/0527-international-peace-stamp-issued.htm ------------------------------------- Continued from above Saturday September 26 Full Harvest moon in Aries The Aries Full Moon Has Rose Colored Lenses Neptune, the planet of spirituality, but also illusions and confusions, will be active under the Aries Full Moon, making it harder for us to see the truth. If something feels off to us under this Full Moon, or we are presented with an opportunity that just feels a little too good to be true, we have to pause and pay attention. With Neptune involved, we can also keep in mind that all the information we receive may not be the full picture. When our view is not clear, our only choice is to trust our intuition. Listening to that inner voice can be hard at times, but it will be our guide under this cosmic weather. How to Work with the Aries Full Moon Feeling some heated emotions is likely to be something we will all experience, especially leading into the Full Moon. We tend to feel the Full Moon brewing at least four days before it arrives, so begin paying attention to what is coming up for you. Do you feel more frustrated, angry, or irritable than usual? Are you pushing to get things done, or feeling a lack of motivation? Writing things down, exercise, dancing around the living room, making art, deep cleaning, and spending time near water are all some ways we can channel this energy. If you want to reflect deeper, you can also consider: your relationship with anger what is hiding beneath your anger/frustration where you need to be more impulsive and take a leap of faith where you need to slow down and be more responsible what brings you passion your relationship with feeling and staying motivated Excerpts from the full article here: https://foreverconscious.com/aries-full-moon-astrology-september-2026 ------------------------------------- In peace and harmony, Valerie Miller SCOL Secretary Rev. Divination and Mediumship Hi, everyone. For our Mediumship Class on Thursday, September 17, at 7:30 pm on Zoom, Suzanne Garrison-Terry will be leading the class. This class will be on divination and mediumship. You must have a deck of playing cards or Tarot cards to participate. The goal is to listen or see what the future holds. It is mediumship since it is about listening to what Spirit is telling us. It is not connecting to Great Uncle Joe, but to the Spirit that has this wisdom for us. Since it is a skill, it needs to be honed. And I will say that the students need to take the advice with a grain of salt until they are REALLY ready. • Please email Suzanne by 2 pm on Thursday or sooner for the Zoom link and to let her know you are coming: [email protected] • The cost for this class is $12.00. Frank Kotowski and others Note: If you are planning to come to this hybrid service at UUFSB, please come early, by 10:15 am, to help us set up the room. Thanks very much. We welcome you to join our in-person service at the UUFSB building, where we have been meeting since January 2018: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook, Religious Education Wing, 380 Nicolls Rd., East Setauket, NY 11733. For those joining us for the first time please see the directions on our website page 'HOW to REACH US': https://www.summerlandchurchoflight.org/how-to-reach-us.html • For the Zoom link please email our church in advance (by 9:45 AM Saturday morning). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. We are asking for donations at this time during our online and hybrid church services to support our work and to allow us to continue through these troubling times. We are meeting less often in person so we have less opportunity to collect donations in person to help us with ongoing operating expenses that need to be paid: partial rent, full insurance, Zoom fees, payment to the national organization, to name a few. Thursday September 10 New Moon in Virgo 11:27 PM EDT The New Moon occurs as the Moon aligns with the Sun in the sign of Virgo. It is the quietest, most practical lunation of the year, and after August’s dramatic eclipses it is exactly the reset the sky owes us. Where eclipse lunations are wild cards, a Virgo new moon is a gardener. It favours the deliberate: habits begun now, systems built now, and health commitments made now tend to still be standing at the end of the year. It is, simply, the best fresh-start date in Virgo Season 2026. Timing matters with new moons: the seed-planting window runs from the exact lunation through the following 48 hours, while the Moon is still dark and barely waxing. For this one, that means the sweet spot is September 10 evening through September 13. Avoid launching in the day before the new moon — the balsamic dark of September 9–10 is for finishing and releasing, not beginning. Write the intentions, then act on the first small step within the window; a new moon intention with a deed attached is worth ten kept only in a journal.
