This arrow is said to be heading towards the star, Antares, which is said to unlock our heart chakra and our heart’s desire. While we can aim our arrow towards our desires, once the arrow leaves the bow, it is out of our control. Life can be similar. We can head towards what we want and our desires, but what ends up happening along the way is often not in our control. We have to move through the twists and turns of life and deal with the cards that are being handed to us, whether we like it or not. But, even though we may not have complete control, we can aim our arrow in the direction of our choosing. We can make our mark and choose the direction we want to move in. We don’t have to stay where we are standing. We can move, we can pivot, and we can alter our course of direction whenever we choose. This December 19th New Moon invites us to do just that. It reminds us that we are not stuck, we are not limited, and we do not have to stay where we are if we are not satisfied. We can simply take our arrows and aim them in a new direction. Of course, it is not always easy to change or break free from a situation, but this New Moon wants us to think bigger. It wants us to set the intention and lay the groundwork to move closer to our heart’s desire. It wants us to experiment with taking a big leap and finding the courage needed to get where we want to be. If you weren’t fearful. If you weren’t afraid of failing or succeeding, if there was no judgment and you were guaranteed to get what you want, what would you do? Where would your heart lead you? This question will not necessarily give you the answer you are looking for, but it can point you in the right direction. Often, our heart’s desire is not big or grand or rooted in material riches; it is often a lot simpler. But this question can help to open doors, invite new ways of thinking, and can get your mind aligned with abundance, rather than limitation. Give this question a try. Use it as a journal prompt. The twins represent both the mortal and immortal components of our being. We have a very mortal physical body that is here for a set amount of time, but we also have an immortal soul that carries on to infinity (and probably beyond). We have to nurture both sides of these “twins,” and that is something we can do with greater ease under the Gemini Full Moon. Where do we need to lean into spirit more? Where do we need to lean into our earthly existence a little more? The December Full Moon Aligns with the Antares Star Gate The Gemini Full Moon also happens to be conjunct Antares, one of the four royal stars. Antares is a star known as the heart of the scorpion. If we were to draw a line from the bow of our Sagittarius Archer, it would point straight to Antares. Antares, the heart of the Scorpion, symbolizes love, passion, and purpose. It guides us to follow our heart’s desire and to lean into the love that we are. Use this energy to think about your passions and purpose. Use it to aim your arrow in a direction of your choosing. Perhaps there is something your heart longs to achieve? This is your chance to take aim. On deeper levels, Antares is also believed to be the resting place of souls after they leave their earthly bodies. It is in the realm of Antares that our soul is reunited with the love that we are created from; it is in the realm of Antares that we can recognize the love we received, gave, and where forgiveness is needed. We can channel some of this beautiful Antares energy under the Full Moon by surrounding ourselves with self-love, celebrating those we love, and also leaning into forgiveness. Where do we need to forgive ourselves or others in order to reach a deeper level of healing and openness? Where do we find ourselves closed off and afraid to shine, and how can we soften these barriers and allow our true selves to step forward?
