We at Summerland Church of Light, NSAC have come together to share our joy and appreciation for this abundant life and the gift of one another. Our vision is to create an oasis on Earth where all are welcome to experience the phenomena of Spiritualism which prove the continued existence of life after the change called death.
It is the sincere hope of this church that those who are drawn here will experience a renewal of the divinity within and share their divine love with all. |
Two In-Person SCOL Services a Month Now: Our church is having two hybrid services (services that are in-person at UUFSB and also live-streamed on Zoom). They are usually on the first and third Saturdays of the month, but this may not always be the case.

At this point, we are not requiring you to wear a mask but you may certainly do so. (Health protocols may change due to changing NY state and UUFSB mandates.) The room for our services in the Religious Education wing has two portable air-purifying systems that will be used during the time we are there.

• Membership: Please see one of our Board Members for information regarding becoming a member. Membership is $40/year. Your being a member supports our church financially and spiritually and allows you to benefit from discounts on workshops and message circles. Our growth as a community is reflected by our membership and by your wanting to be a part of our family. More information below.
• Becoming a Healer: If you feel you have a wonderful ability to help people heal and you would like to become a student healer, please speak to a Board Member.
• Recording of Services and Workshops: We are looking for someone video record our services (meditations and Spiritual Addresses) and workshops. If you would like to volunteer your services in this capacity, please see a Board member.
• Becoming a Platform Worker: If you would like to be a Platform Worker for church services, please see a member of the Summerland Board of Trustees or Pastoral Committee. You must be a church member in good standing to be a Platform Worker.
• Commemorative Services: If you wish to have a Sunday service said in memory or celebration of a congregant’s personal milestone such as the anniversary of a passing or wedding or commitment date, birthday, etc., please see a Board Member.

Cancellation of Services Due to Inclement WeatherBoard Members will confer and decide by 6 to 7 PM Friday whether or not to hold service Saturday morning.
Members will be emailed, OR called if church the next day is canceled. Also, the Summerland Facebook page and Summerland website will contain notices. |

Becoming a Member of Summerland Church of Light, NSAC:
Welcome to the Summerland Church of Light, NSAC!
We are excited by your interest in becoming a member of our church. Our church is a community of free -"spirited" people who enjoy the peace and serenity of our services, as we connect with Infinite Intelligence and hear messages from our loved ones. We know that you will find our services uplifting and our congregants loving and supportive.
Before you can become a church member, there are several steps you need to take:
1. We ask that you attend church services for 3 months or more. Note that coming to every church service during that time is not required, but each visit will give you a better idea about our religion and our church. The fulfillment of this requirement demonstrates to us that you are making a commitment to attend our services and become an active member in our church.
2. You can obtain a membership application from the Membership Committee Chairperson, the Secretary or download a PDF Here. The membership fee is currently $40.00 per year. We would like to receive payment at the time you turn in the completed application to the Membership Committee Chairperson or the Secretary.
3. Your application is then brought before the Board at its next meeting, at which time your application is reviewed and your name is submitted for membership. The Board decides by vote whether to accept you as a new church member.
Barring any reasonable objections, you are then accepted as a new church member.
4. You must attend a class on Spiritualism and your role as a church member titled "Spiritualism 101," presented by a member of the Pastoral Committee or Board.
5. Once you have completed the previous steps, you will be notified by the Secretary of the date for the Right Hand of Fellowship, given during an upcoming church service. At the Right Hand of Fellowship you will be asked to follow the principles and practices of Spiritualism, our church, and the NSAC. After you have accepted these tenets, you will be formally introduced to the congregants as a new church member of Summerland Church of Light, NSAC.
This is a joyous occasion, since it demonstrates the continued growth of our church and your valued participation.

Welcome to the Summerland Church of Light, NSAC! We are excited by your interest in becoming an associate member of our church. Associate membership is for those individuals who wish to be active in our church but who cannot commit to being a regular member. If you live a great distance from our church, you may wish to be an associate member rather than a regular member. Note that as an associate member, you cannot hold a position on our church Board or vote at meetings, but you can attend the meetings.
Also, as an associate member, you can be a member of another religious organization. As with regular members, you will enjoy the peace and serenity of our services if you attend them, and you will become a part of our greater church community as you help to support it.
Before you can become an associate church member, there are several steps you need to take:
1. You can obtain an associate membership application from the church Secretary or download a PDF Here . The associate membership fee is currently $25.00 per year. We would like to receive payment at the time you turn in the completed application.
