For our Mediumship Class on Thursday on Zoom, Su Garrison-Terry will be directing the class. Here is the description for this class: Smell and taste are important to some of our earliest memories. They are also two of the least utilized “clair” senses. In tonight's class, we will partner up to recreate some of those significant memories of what's cooking in our ancestor's kitchen. Image: Photo by Jason Briscoe on Unsplash. ---------------- Thursday January 11 New Moon in Capricorn  The Capricorn New Moon on January 11 is the first New Moon of the year, and while this New Moon is ripe with fresh new energy, there is also the energy of endings attached to it too, thanks to Pluto, which is hovering at the powerful 29th degree of Capricorn. Pluto will dip in and out of Capricorn until November 2024, when it will finally leave for good, but this is the last Capricorn New Moon where Pluto will be close, bringing a sense of closure and endings to this journey. Pluto first entered Capricorn back in 2008, making it hard to remember life any other way! We have all grown so used to Pluto in Capricorn that we may find it a little more challenging to discern the lessons this vibration has been teaching us. In Capricorn, Pluto has been guiding us to recognize what makes us feel stable and secure. It has been working on the deepest layers of our soul, helping us to transform and recognize our own power. Pluto is considered the Lord of the Underworld, and while it has journeyed through Capricorn, we all would have been confronted with something from our own underworld. Something would have died, and in its place, something else reborn. Pluto is our reminder that nothing lasts forever and that all things must eventually fade. But with every fading, with every falling away, something new is reborn. As this is the last Capricorn New Moon with Pluto in Capricorn, it seems fitting that there is some rebirth that follows this transformation we have been moving through all these years. It seems fitting that perhaps the final layers are being shed, and we are now able to stand fresh and renewed in our true selves. So, while this New Moon is very much about setting the stage for 2024, it is also about honoring the past and the transformations we have moved through. It is also about acknowledging what has risen up from our own underworld and how that has fueled our own death and rebirth journeys. It is said that intentions or goals made on a Capricorn New Moon hold the promise of longevity. So, if there is something you really want to commit to for the long term, set your intention and then take a small action in that direction under this New Moon. If anything changes concerning our in-person services, we will let you know. At this point, we are not requiring you to wear a mask but you may certainly do so. (Health protocols may change due to changing NY state and UUFSB mandates.) The room for our services in the Religious Education wing has two portable air-purifying systems that will be used during the time we are there. We require a minimum of four people to attend (not counting the platform workers and helpers). Please let us know if you can commit to coming, and how often, to our hybrid services.
