As the lunar cycle begins, we can wipe the slate clean in our own lives, especially when it comes to our emotions. It may inspire us to get in touch with our passions, to return to projects or hobbies we had forgotten about, and to prioritize joy and lightness. One of the highest octaves of Leo energy is the quality of simplicity. When we simplify, life can become easier, less emotionally heavy, and we can find it easier to make room for joy. What do you need to simplify in your life? Where are you overcomplicating a situation or allowing your emotions to make a situation worse than it is? Venus, which is still traveling in retrograde, is also very active under this August New Moon. If Venus Retrograde has been active for you, this New Moon could bring things to a climax point. Black Moon Lilith is also active at this time too, indicating a strong rise of feminine energy. Black Moon Lilith’s presence under this New Moon will give us a boost when it comes to standing up for ourselves, owning our self worth, and not backing down from what we feel is right. While we do have to be mindful of our egos rising up, there is a beautiful energy here that is guiding us to stand in our truth and to own our inner power. Uranus, the planet known as the “Great Awakener,” is also active under this New Moon, which means there is a certain element of volatility brewing. We may need this feminine strength that comes from both Venus and Black Moon Lilith to hold us in place and guide us to our truth if some surprising or unsettling news arises. With the combination of Uranus, Venus, and Black Moon Lilith circulating with this New Moon, it very well could be that the surprising news could bring major change into our lives, particularly when it comes to our relationships. "Meditation and Messages" occurs on the second Tuesday of the month, each month, from 7:30 to 8:45 pm. A 20-30 minute meditation will be followed by 45 minutes of spirit messages. All guests can give messages, as in a Message Circle, under the guidance of Rev. Frank Kotowski. The next class will be on Tuesday, September 12. For more information see poster here: https://www.summerlandchurchoflight.org/payments--donations.html#Meditation&Messages In-Person Mediumship Meetups on Tuesday: We have decided to suspend in-person mediumship classes at UUFSB until there is more interest for those wishing to attend. Two In-Person SCOL Services a Month Now: Our church is having two hybrid services (services that are in-person at UUFSB and also live-streamed on Zoom) a month now. They are usually on the first and third Saturdays of the month, but this may not always be the case. Our next Hybrid services will be on August 5 and 19. If anything changes concerning our in-person services, we will let you know. At this point, we are not requiring you to wear a mask but you may certainly do so. (Health protocols may change due to changing NY state and UUFSB mandates.) The room for our services in the Religious Education wing has two portable air-purifying systems that will be used during the time we are there. We require a minimum of four people to attend (not counting the platform workers and helpers). Please let us know if you can commit to coming, and how often, to our hybrid services. Also, we are looking for more people to serve at our hybrid services. If you have an interest in offering a Spiritual Address, offering a guided meditation, or being a greeter, please let us know in an email. Spirit guides and doctors will diagnose the trouble and its cause, attention being directed to overcoming the cause, and then removing the symptoms.
